B.Sc. Mass Communication (top up, online) is a full-time 4-semesters accelerated undergraduate program in Mass Communication. The course deals into the areas of information which is disseminated to masses through media. The eligibility for the programme depends on your current qualification.
There are no entrance examinations held for admission to the program. Admission to the program is done purely on the basis of merit obtained in the evaluation of your credentials. The course deals extensively into the aspects related to media and dissemination of information using different mass media tools. Candidates gain an intricate knowledge of generating information, creating stories as well as details of advertising used in media. Candidates gain an insight about the industry and its workings thus enabling them to become profound in their field.
Course structure
We use a variety of teaching methods including online lectures, demonstrations, screenings, seminars, workshops, tutorials, small-group work, debates, group and individual project work, independent learning, open and resource-based learning, multimedia and new media learning, production practice and work placements.
Generally, the theory modules employ a lecture-plus-seminar format, while practice modules use workshop-tutorial and/or lecture-tutorial formats.
Assessment methods include portfolios of practical works, essays, online test and examinations, reports and presentations.
